\\\ asymmetric ///

tops and t- shirts have been around for ages with asymmetric hems which are pretty much a staple wardrobe item these days.  the kind im really liking right now are in dress/skirt form, heavy cropping at the front with train like rear that can billow behind you as you strut round town.  for me the dress/skirt versions are either best to the ground with a heavy slit or kept midi length for day wear-ability.  all need to be either sheer material or something with incredible drape.  shirts are also the new t.shirt for me - naturally i really want this cape style shirt immediately ....sigh....they are also pretty easy to diy if your the sewing type.

aint just a plastic bag

i  can't seem to get plastic bags out of my head...and not your supermarket kind.  so in lust right now with pretty much any plastic clutch that are all over the internet at the moment.  personally i couldn't really rock a plastic handbag (i carry around way too much rubbish - and don't really want the world to see!) but i am definitely on the look out for a plastic purse and something to diy a plastic box clutch similar to Fendi.  ideas or a plastic envelope clutch are very do-able and <3 the plastic shopper bag....ooooooohhh!!

lips for your eyes only

i've often lusted over the dark goth lip look but know just how damn hard it is to not to just pull it off, but make it stay put!!  eating your lips off never looks hot and its worse still when your wearing a mega dark lippie.  but unlike most who tend to put this together with a fair and no-tan complexion i think id better suit it with a tan (??) - which i now have.  thank god love asthetics came along and shared her wicked tips to get the matt black look.  she uses, wait for it...EYE LINER and just a smidge of lip balm to keep it all flexi.  it stays put and doesn't bleed.  hear that ladies!!??  so while i might not smash a matt black i really want to smash a matt purple or burgundy.  whoever claimed those colours are for winter only is full if sh*t.

summer time blues

weather lately has been shite......omg....cry......i want my summer holiday back...it went something like this:

at least the new pad (moving in a week) has a killer back lawn and bbq area....i see the bar being pulled outside a lot to enjoy some lovely evening good times!!  where to get those A-MAZING loungers sigh..

LUV IT TO ME

had this on my mind for ages and pair and a spare have shown the best two diy's ive seen in a long time.  thing about this is the 'finishing'...gotta be pretty and perfect - next on my list! ooouuuussh

happy belated NY lovers!

wow its been such a nice break from the internet world.  we spent 10days of BLISS away in the middle of nowhere in a bach by the ocean.  swam everyday - fresh fish / shell fish every day - and waaaaayyyyy to many daylight bevy drinking sessions ;-P i came back from the new year with a wicked tan, and some OMG out of control locks!!  (i had been working for a salt water dread look while away - it NEARLY happened yikes!!)  anyhoo for those that know me, i've lusted over a lady mullet for ages.  i tried to encourage a hairdresser to do one on me ages ago - she wouldn't (wtf!!) and instead i walked away with a shocker of a do.  so since then i got peeved and ditched the obsession, but its secretly still there.  if i had man balls i would LOVE to have the courage to rock this baby....

yeah i'm talking about Yolandi Visser from Die Antwoord (pics google / big day out) - that cut sure gives me a lady boner!

but until i get brave, like very brave I might settle for something like this....

re-do the blunt fringe and thin out the bottom for a finer lighter look.  boring huh!??

dark crystal

i have always had a thing for crystals and strangely don't really own many myself (??) they seem to be something i buy for others, in a time of need, or not, specifically for a reason.  for those who have no idea of crystal healing properties there are pages of info on trusty google, but never have i seen them used quite like this!  cast in bullet shells as pendants, moulded into knuckle duster rings with gold, and even carefully used in watch faces - these are really floating my fierce hippy within.  they even do a selection of earthen vials and you can carry part of the pacific around with you always, or fill one with your own special somethings.....check it out at UNEARTHEN - simply stunning!

road kill

its really not often i see something and my jaw literally drops to the floor.  last year for the races i "thought" i was being very uber clever and made myself a cage inspired hat (using recycled leather) complete with leather feathers.  it wasnt 'enough' and last minute i added a crow which was just a double sided silhouette really.  this year it appears i have to lift my game because that didnt even get close to as unbelievable as reid peppards TAXIDERMY head pieces and accessories.  jesus christ, reid is an unbelievable jeweller (and this post sadly is not about the jewellery - check the website for that) but more about how someone takes a creature, which has sadly lost its life and gives it a new one, to be adorned by its brave owner.  im talking REAL crow head pieces, REAL pigeon wing clips and head bands, there are even REAL fox clutches and REAL squirrel purses.  obviously this isn't for everyone, but heck ...its so for me!!!  i...want...one.....now!!!  look at my version (cough, cough - which is so sad now ive seen this) and then at reid's amazing accessories. sigh.

me - not the best picture sorry.

jewellery is delivered in this amazing box - which you have to SMASH to get to the goodies inside...oh wow a wopping gold ring in that would really turn me on.

looks to be a pigeon (??) head piece....WOWIES so glam...

ahhh the CROW head piece worn masquerade ......i fizz looking at this

crow again...

article from the blog, yep that looks like a rat hat to me....

a real CROW clutch...every dark girls dream....
the fox clutch...not one to bring out around the 4 year old perhaps..these come with emerald eyes and other lovely additions....
a pigeon, found dead and delivered like most carcasses to reid to work some magic.

i had some serious issues access the website but check the blog here!

whimsical daydreams

today i noticed a recent cocorosa posting about new head piece she was gifted.  it looked kinda interesting so followed the link to OH!Nena .....wow....what a girl fest daydream that website is!!  i strongly suggest you check it out, the music is beautiful the photography is fantastic, while i don't care much for the models makeup, the models themselves look like little woodland fairies, oh the intro and the mist....sigh...... - oh yeah and the headpieces totally float my boat. i couldnt actually find a few things in their shop area but the website area has some fantastic stuff.  its set off some serious thinking about diy race day head wear...ooooohhhhhhhh how much fun could be had!  you too should go get lost for a while and just feast the senses with this delightful surprise: oh!nena
