year of the red head

yeah i've been reading around that 'red' is the new 'it' colour to be dying hair right now.  anything from shades of strawberry blonde, orangey copper, and well red like a fire engine i guess?    i personally was red for years waaaaaaay back and don't see me going there again anytime soon, but it did get me thinking about the ultimate in colour blocking once i saw this shoot.  basic colour blocking which is the new 'it' look is pretty easy to achieve i reckon but who is gonna take it to the next level and include their hair?  go on i dare ya. i also have to ad that the styling and photography for this editorial gets me very very very excited...

happy belated NY lovers!

wow its been such a nice break from the internet world.  we spent 10days of BLISS away in the middle of nowhere in a bach by the ocean.  swam everyday - fresh fish / shell fish every day - and waaaaayyyyy to many daylight bevy drinking sessions ;-P i came back from the new year with a wicked tan, and some OMG out of control locks!!  (i had been working for a salt water dread look while away - it NEARLY happened yikes!!)  anyhoo for those that know me, i've lusted over a lady mullet for ages.  i tried to encourage a hairdresser to do one on me ages ago - she wouldn't (wtf!!) and instead i walked away with a shocker of a do.  so since then i got peeved and ditched the obsession, but its secretly still there.  if i had man balls i would LOVE to have the courage to rock this baby....

yeah i'm talking about Yolandi Visser from Die Antwoord (pics google / big day out) - that cut sure gives me a lady boner!

but until i get brave, like very brave I might settle for something like this....

re-do the blunt fringe and thin out the bottom for a finer lighter look.  boring huh!??

because im still heavily on a 70's love crush this editorial made me weep. mostly vintage, mixed with modern ......arrrhhh i want it all. i may have the long bob already but now im wanting my hair lighter too.........

too hot for words!! naturally a little too avant-garde for mainstream  doing your shopping do's but oh how i adore!!!  hair is on my mind mainly because i got mine CUT today and love it (thx Jason @ Haight Ashbury you rock) but also because i've become fixated with bobs at the moment....just LOOK at that two tone bob below (which is VERY wearable) - that is seriously sexy!!!

yep Alexa looks amazing the girl is hot, clothes fab, styling wicked....but all I can see is that hair.  yeah I'm so gonna go down this road myself....any day now.

out with the old

i think i might finally have smashed my mullet obsession.  never did actually do it and now i'm lusting over these locks instead.  just enough 70's to make me feel at home, just enough little girl next door without being indecent. aagghhhh i want that cut now.  oh yeah Abbey Lee looks totally hot as usual but then that's nothing new. sigh.
