american girls in paris in the 60's

wooaaahhhh it's not every day i see an international collection and am completely floored by how good it looks.  sometimes i dont bother even looking at a lot of them - talk about fashion overload!!  chris benz ss11 is an exception.  one glance (at one divine aquatic floral print wedge, see image 1) and i was searching as quick as possible for the rest of the collection.  i'm gob smacked. stunned.  stuck for words even.  all i can say is i love it all. wide leg pants, fantastic prints, tan, teal, yellow, orange, cute knits, killer shoes, basically everything i wish i could own right now.  did i mention killer shoes??? check out my personal fav in the first pic...they only retail for about $1000.00NZD (gape!!)

note:  he was inspired by 'american girls in paris in the 60's' ..oh how i want to be one of them!!

clunking down memory lane

the 90's shoe revival has hit me hard and hit me in a good way.  i can't get enough of chunky and clunky soles and heels - the more platform the better.  for me.. the ultimate way to wear a pair of these babies is with black mid lengh socks and a midi skirt (if it were camel suede even better!!), or with a sheer maxi dress / skirt and crazy tights.  the key thing to look out for is to make sure the heel is thick, square or possibly fluted at the bottom,  make sure you stick to either a mary-jane design or if you go strappy - make sure they are THICK straps, and a killer platform is mandatory.   

if you can't quite rock the black grunge look, but still want to get your clunky on, go for something in print or a stripe - in bold colour choices to keep you skipping all through winter!!!

all of the above look great paired with clashing socks and tights, or both!

i got me some KICKS

i love LOOKING at the multiple rainbow, striped, paint splashed, tagged, flouro kicks out there..and really do admire secretly any skater girls (or non skaters) that rock around town in a pair...BUT i am occasionally a bit classic and wanted my kicks either black or white!!  black full leather would have been ideal BUT instead of forking out $200 i went with a canvas version (for now!!) that my significant other said i should STUD.  omg...why did i NOT THINK OF THAT MYSELF!!  yeah...i bet these cheapies will fall apart long before im finished with them and i'll be crying at how to get another budget version THIS cool again.  until the finished and improved version are done, these images got a tick from me...the last shot is included because as mentioned i like LOOKING at the purdy colours....sigh :-)

i saw pictures of these the other day (week) and now can't find the image of the guy AND gurl in this jacket. it's amazing.  adidas has turned matador..all sequins and embroidery and tassles.  even better they are unisex so if your lucky and your guys is the same size (yeah right) you can share :-)  i see me in a black one even though i love the idea of pink...also secretly crushing on those kicks too!!!!
