so damn easy peasy

i saw this diy a while back and believe it came via Pair and a Spare....(??) it's on my list to do, after acquiring a pile of chain i need for something else.  surely chain can be brought on the roll??  anyhoo....match the chain with some wicked earrings, attach chain to the arms of sunglasses you already have and match a pair of dangling earrings on the end!....i'll be doing this one myself, but do think keeping the same colour / tone as the chain is key to keeping this looking professional and classy.  perfect for all those high top bun girls out there, where you can see the earrings hanging down behind your ear!  so easy!

knitting ain't for nana's

saw this unbelievable diy by Barbro Anderson today which got me really craving a pair of knitted shorties for autumn. i've never thought knitting was for nana's and this proves it.  check her blog for a diy tutorial, it's rather brief but does seem to me the logical way anyone would bumble through making a pair themselves. the first pair are in grey but after some fine tweeks she knocked out a pair in mustard.... everyone knows the new 'it' colour is any mustard like hue.  see ya i'm off to buy me some wool!

aint just a plastic bag

i  can't seem to get plastic bags out of my head...and not your supermarket kind.  so in lust right now with pretty much any plastic clutch that are all over the internet at the moment.  personally i couldn't really rock a plastic handbag (i carry around way too much rubbish - and don't really want the world to see!) but i am definitely on the look out for a plastic purse and something to diy a plastic box clutch similar to Fendi.  ideas or a plastic envelope clutch are very do-able and <3 the plastic shopper bag....ooooooohhh!!

had this on my mind for ages and pair and a spare have shown the best two diy's ive seen in a long time.  thing about this is the 'finishing'...gotta be pretty and perfect - next on my list! ooouuuussh

totally rad, so easy to diy - huge square scarfs riveted at all corners....long chain hard wear that can clip on and off - chuck it round your neck and wear out in the cold, whip it off, change the chains around and hey presto turn it into a bag when you need one.  done.  love it.  pics say it all.  and UNISEX so i'm sold.

lacy eyes

arrhhh sometimes i see something and it makes my eyes pop with excitement.  how sublimely easy would this diy be....LACE sunnies.  the trick of course is to make sure you buy second hand frames (you dont really want to stuff up your DnG's aye) -it would also help to get something oversized as per below....and then to make sure the lace you get is very intricate...that way you can actually carefully trim parts of the lace away to expose more glass.  oh man i want this so now!!

oohhhhh miu miu print you are so OUT!!  these scream DIY to me.  how awesome is the little cross print???  i think the black print in a full tit CLERICAL collar (complete with white insert) would be the one to rock with the long sheer flirty skirts at the moment...or maybe i'm just one sick little minx?

my kinda granny panty

just when the creative urge is really lacking something like this pops up online and i run like mad for my sharpies.  if anyone ever thought sharpies were dumb think again.  this lovely lass hand draws on vintage undies, corsets and slips and SHIZZLE the results are amazing?? never has the granny panty looked so damn original and kewl!!!  am i the only one totally in love with this?  the knickers are just too fine to be worn under something - and i cant stop thinking of the possibilities when armed with my 40 odd collection of pens, the goodness that could be made.  right now im suddenly on the hunt for a suitable bra-let that i can let leash on in this vein...ill be hoping for a slightly more gangster image but still with some beautiful detailing.  oh yeah she makes these crazy old skool pocket bikini's - so clever <3

wow part of me is like these are O FOR AWESOME....part of me wonders if i could actually do it without laughing my head off constantly(!!). am i (??) half of a hard enough "diy couple" - that could manage (stop it!!) matching (teehehe!!!) his and her rings that bolt together.  i dont know if even we are that gag worthy couply??  what do you reckon babe, could they come with some embedded lapis lazuli i wonder...

they are believe it or not, wedding bands found here - i can just hear it now 'hey babe will you screw me'... 

for the digi fashionista's

strictly for hawt gurls who (like me) dont really like camera bags (eeewwwwww). i've been known to shove my camera into a handbag wrapped in a scarf (def NOT recommended!!) but this solves every digi fashionista's dilemma.  designed around a Nikon D90 but i'm sure this diy could be adapted for whatever DSLR you tend to lug around....

so friendship bracelets are back with a bang, they are everywhere but they have come a long way since the smelly worn scabby things we made in primary school and handed out to everyone. my preference are for the 'obviously' more complicated versions, they include stripes / checkers / and african inspired design motifs.  

i'm also partial to the 'grown up' designer version which is sterling silver AND thread, it has a silver toggle so you aren't stuck wearing the thing permanently.  oh la la you can pick your own colour combos as well... image below and found here:

one up on the diy thread only version are beaded cuff bracelets - all following similar pattern aesthetics but using beads on either wire or thread, which is in turn wrapped around rings or cuff bases.  beauty of these you aren't messing around with a knot to join it, so its removable.  i quite like the version that is mounted on leather with the stud closure...nice!

there is of course the good ole safety pin and hat elastic bead bracelets which were once the rage, then quite daggy and  i think with the right colour combinations  these can once again be resurrected.

its pretty yuck here in wellies today so i think we are about to tackle one of these tutorials to put some colour into winter.  remember friendship bracelets were originally made to be given to FRIENDS, but since this doesnt happen anymore to anyone over the age of probably 10 - we should instead embrace our inner multiple personalities and give them to ourselves!
